Clan senior named Division II Bulletin second team All-American

Simon Fraser University women's basketball forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe was named an NCAA Division II Bulletin second team All-American.

Simon Fraser University women's basketball forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe was named an NCAA Division II Bulletin second team All-American.

It is the third All-American team Raincock-Ekunwe has been named to, after also earning a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association team and the Daktronics second team.

Raincock-Ekunwe is the only Great Northwest Athletic Conference player named to one of the four Bulletin teams.

This past season, Raincock-Ekunwe was part of a Clan team that made it to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Div. II tourament, finishing second in the west region and second in the conference.

Raincock-Ekunwe averaged 16.8 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game this season, and had a shooting percentage of 0.653, the highest in the nation in Div. II.

This award comes at the conclusion of an impressive career for Raincock-Ekunwe with the Clan that began with a Canadian Interuniversity Sport title in her freshman year.

Raincock-Ekunwe played only three seasons in the Great Northwest conference, but was still able to break 12 conference records, including the conference career double-doubles record of 48, earning a total of 63 in her three-year NCAA conference career.

After the 2012-13 regular season, Raincock-Ekunwe was named a first team conference all-star and the Great Northwest player of the year.
