Six Simon Fraser University soccer players were named to the Daktronics West Region all-star men's team on Monday.

Great Northwest Conference player of the year Michael Winter and freshman of the year Ryan Dhillon were among four Clan players named to the first all-region team.

Conference all-stars Matt Besuschko and Carlo Basso were also named to the regional first team.

Freshman Quante Abbott Hill Smith and Helge Neumann both earned selection to the all-region second team.

"We have athletes from different years and positions winning awards, which represents the depth we have this season," said Clan head coach Alan Koch.

The six Simon Fraser University players were the most all-region selections from any school in the region.

Next week, the Clan men's soccer team will take on Saginaw Valley State in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II national championships in Evans, Georgia from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1.
