The Burnaby Collegiate Bulldogs are the B.C. junior men's baseball champions.
The Bulldogs defeated the host Kelowna Jays in extra innings by a score of 5-4 in Kelowna.
Three players on the team, all pitchers, are from Burnaby and played significant roles in the provincial championship win.
Daniel Altoe pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts for a 5-2 win against the Kamloops Sun Devils to solidify Burnaby's entry into the final. While Quinn Allen was given the honors of starting the championship game pitching a solid first four innings that would lead to the eventual win. Douglas Strohan, another Burnaby pitcher, also pitched some solid innings earlier in the tournament.
The Bulldogs roster is made up of returning college players 21 years of age and younger from schools all over North America.
The collegiate Bulldogs will now represent B.C. at the 2013 national championship to be held next year in Dartmouth, N.S.
