Liam Firus is a member of the Vancouver Skating Club, which is located in North Vancouver. Firus has been a member of that club since he started skating at the age of nine.

Firus is part of the Canadian national team, along with Kevin Reynolds, who is based in Burnaby at the B.C. Centre of Excellence. Both men will be competing at the Olympics next month as part of Team Canada.
