Dynamo shine at Invitational

Vanessa Su made the most of home-pool advantage last week. The preteen raced six events and won each to the Dynamo Swim Club’s 16th annual Invitational swim meet a resounding success.

Vanessa Su made the most of home-pool advantage last week.
The preteen raced six events and won each to the Dynamo Swim Club’s 16th annual Invitational swim meet a resounding success. The 11-year-old Burnaby swimmer led a strong Dynamo team, with gold in the 50- and 200-metre freestyle, 100- and 200m butterfly, the 200 breaststroke and individual medley.
It helped keep the home club in the hunt for the aggregate award Lidia Trophy, which was claimed by the West Van Otters.
Ming Ze Zhu was in fine form, collecting four medals in his 12-year-old age group. He won the 50m breast, placed second in the 50m back and a pair of bronze in the 100m back and 200m IM.
Picking up three medals each were Nathan Li and Ramon Siytangco. Li topped the boys 14 50m breast, placed second in 200m breast and third in 400m IM, while Siytangco, 16, won the 400m IM and finished second in the 200m and 400m free.
Also registering multiple medal wins were Gabrielle Brochu, Kayley Gibb, Sarah Yang, Nathan Kwon and Daniel Zhu.
