The Simon Fraser University men's basketball team narrowly missed an upset over Montana State Billings.
The Clan fell 73-69 to the sixth-place Billings Yellowjackets in Great Northwest conference play at home on Saturday.
"Even though we lost, this was still a big step forward for us," said Anto Olah in a Clan press release. "We know what we have to do. We have seven games left, so we need to keep at it and keep playing together as a team."
Olah contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds to the effort. Taylor Dunn led the Clan with 21 points. Ibrahim Appiah and Elijah Matthews chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
SFU trailed Montana State 37-31 in the first half, but outscored the visitors in the latter half of play. The Clan also outrebounded the Americans.
Earlier in the week, SFU lost to No. 2 Seattle Pacific University 90-56 on Thursday.
Olah and Matthews shared the team-lead with 14 points apiece.
SFU trailed Seattle Pacific 39-30 at the interval but could not make any ground in the second half against the No. 4-ranked Division II team in the nation.
