Kimberly Newell improved her goals against average to 2.90 following back-to-back wins for Princeton University in the East Coast women's hockey last week.
Newell, who backstopped Canada to a gold medal at the under-18 world women's championships in Finland last month, made 28 saves in Princeton's 3-1 win over Yale on Feb. 1.
Newell also made 24 stops in the Tigers' 6-1 victory over Brown University on Saturday. The win was the third straight victory for Princeton.
The St. Thomas More grad is currently fifth in the conference with 595 saves in 20 varsity starts. Newell's 0.914 save percentage is also eighth overall.
