Alpha Secondary School grad Megan Ellis had nine kills to help Portland State University snap an eight-game losing streak in NCAA Division I women's volleyball. Ellis had 21 total attacks, two digs and two blocked shots in a straight-set win over Weber State on Saturday.

Portland State defeated Weber 25-14, 25-21, 25-15 to improve to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in Big Sky conference play. A day earlier, Portland State fell 25-19, 18-25, 22-25, 22-25 to Idaho State. Ellis contributed five kills, 16 total attacks and three digs in the match.
