Flicka Gym Club's Briannah Tsang had a best third-place finish at the Olympic women's final selection meet in Gatineau, Que. last week.

The 16-year-old North Burnaby Secondary student scored a 14.450, with a high degree of difficulty, in the vault at the Olympic artistic gymnastics selection meet. She was also sixth on the balance beam. Tsang finished in 10th place in an 11-competitor field after Day 1 of the two-day competition.

Team selection was also based on results from the 2012 Canadian championships, where Tsang placed fifth overall.

Three-time national all-around champion Kristina Vaculik of Ontario topped the 11 Olympic hopefuls for one of the five available spots on the London team.

Fifteen-year-old Victoria Moors of Ontario placed second overall following the highest score in Thursday's final competition.

Brittany Rogers of Coquitlam moved up three places from her sixth-place ranking to also earn a spot on the Canadian Olympic team after a third-place finish in the all-around.

Dominique Pegg of Ontario and Ellie Black of Halifax, who won two medals at a World Cup meet in Croatia in April, took the final two spots on the national team. Ontario's Jessica Savona and Madeline Gardiner were named team alternates.
