High school rugby continues next week

Senior boys’ tier 2 rugby continued this week with Burnaby North leading the local teams in the standings. On Wednesday, Burnaby North beat Central 35 to 14, increasing North’s record to 3-0.

Moscrop’s senior boys’ tier 2 rugby team were at home on Wednesday taking on visiting Argyle Secondary from North Vancouver.

Senior boys’ tier 2 rugby continued this week with Burnaby North leading the local teams in the standings.

On Wednesday, Burnaby North beat Central 35 to 14, increasing North’s record to 3-0. North, a triple A team, is second in the Lower Mainland boys’ tier 2 rugby league to North Vancouver’s Sutherland Secondary boys.

Burnaby’s Moscrop and Alpha secondary are currently ranked fifth and sixth respectively, while Burnaby Central and Cariboo Hill are eighth and ninth.

Next week, Cariboo Hill will take on Howe Sound Secondary in Squamish on Monday, while Burnaby North faces off against Argyle on Wednesday, and Moscrop plays Burnaby Central also on Wednesday.

B.C Premier playoffs begin this weekend

In B.C. Premier League play, the men of the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club are heading to Vancouver to face off against the University of British Columbia in the first round of playoffs. The semi-final game is on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. at UBC’s Thunderbird Stadium.
