Junior Lakers score first league win

Randy Jones scored three goals and added six assists to lead Burnaby to a 13-10 win over the Langley Thunder last week.

Randy Jones led the Burnaby Lakers to their first B.C. Junior Lacrosse League win of the season last week.

The off-season pickup from Delta tallied a game-high nine points, including his first hattrick of the season, in Burnaby's 13-10 victory over Langley on Thursday.

Jones set up Cam Hudseth for his first goal of the season at 31 seconds. He then counted his first of three tallies midway through a six-goal opening frame for the visitors.

Jones also counted the eventual game-winning goal at 8:21 of the final frame. Jones leads the Lakers in scoring with 19 points.

Team captain Peyton Lupul assisted on all three of Jones' goals, finishing with six points, including five helpers.
