The North Burnaby Boxing Club and the Italian-Canadian association are teaming up for a night of amateur boxing at the Italian Cultural Centre on Nov. 22.
The night will include five preliminary bouts and two co-main events, including North Burnaby club fighters.

Live Amateur Boxing at the Italian Cultural Center returns

A Night of Fights is set to rock the Italian Cultural Center on Thursday, Nov. 22.
The Confratellanza Italo Canadese together with the North Burnaby Boxing Club (NBBC) have partnered up to bring boxing back to the Italian Cultural Center. For 28 consecutive years, noted lawyer and judge, George Angelomatis and the Astoria Boxing Club had the annual dinner & boxing event at the Italian Cultural Center.
After a three-year hiatus, we are proud to be able to resurrect the event and bring live amateur boxing back to the Italian Cultural Center.
The night will feature 6-8 bouts on the card. The main event of the evening will feature NBBC's own BC Combative Sports Association Heavyweight Champ Adam Querido defending his title.
This event will be honoring and paying tribute to Louis Valente, former owner of the Astoria Hotel for his years of generosity hosting the Astoria Boxing Club gym at the hotel.
Proceeds from the event will be used to aid Child Foundation, which is an organization focusing on assisting children with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis and to fund amateur boxing in BC though the not-for-profit society, North Burnaby Boxing Club.
