Massud Habibullah wiil also be representing Canada at the Danone Nations Cup in Brazil this November.
The 11-year-old Vancouver forward currently plays for Mountain United FC, which is the highest level of soccer for his age group.
Habibullah and teammate Damiano Pecile of Burnaby are two former Burnaby Selects under-13 players that make up the 11 players, who got picked for the Western Canada team.
In Montreal, Habbibullah scored the game-tying goal against the Eastern Canada team in the national Danone Cup final that sent the game into extra time at Saputo Stadium on June 21. Team Western Canada prevailed 3-1 in the overtime.
"It was an amazing time playing and winning. I'll never forget this great experience," said Habibullah. “My playing style is scoring goals and being dangerous when I attack." The Champlain Heights Elementary School student helped the Burnaby Selects win the u-13 boys’ Provincial A Cup this weekend in his final game with the Metro league club.
"I can't wait to go to Brazil and to see the professional players, especially Zidane. It will be a great time and I am so proud to represent team Canada in Brazil at the international final," he said.
