A Burnaby midget boys’ lacrosse team came away with a gold medal from the Maple Ridge Barn Burner tournament last week.
The midget Lakers stopped Langley 7-4 in the B division final to win their first minor tournament of the season.
Burnaby advanced to the B final, doubling Port Moody 8-4 in a semifinal.
The green team opened with a 12-4 victory over Coquitlam. Burnaby also scored a dozen goals in each of its wins over New Westminster and South Delta in the games that followed.
Burnaby was also represented in the skills competition at the tourney by Jesse Edwards, Coleman Edwards, Nick Hamilton, Josh Dumont and Mack Burns.
