Three Vancouver Cannons, pitchers Connor Noble and Brandon Marklund and catcher Nick Favaro from Burnaby, were invited to the B.C. Selects baseball camp to be held July 9 to 13.
Noble, a 17-year-old righthander leads the Premier Baseball League in strikeouts and has posted seven wins already this year. He is one of the most dominant young pitchers in Canada and a definite pro prospect, says Cannons manager Dave Empey.
Marklund, just 15, is in grade 10 and has started for Vancouver all season, and is one of the standouts on a very young and very promising Cannons' pitching staff.
Favaro, who catches and plays third base, is only in Grade 9 but has already crushed a pair of home runs, a notable accomplishment in the wood bat PBL league.
Favaro played last season for the Burnaby Minor bantam AAA team.
