The Burnaby Winter Club-based Giants blew a two-goal lead at home, but held on for a 3-3 draw with the Valley West Hawks in the opening game of a two-game set last weekend.

The Giants earned their seventh win of the season in Langley with a 3-2 win on Sunday.

Jackson Cressey got the game-winner on a second-period power play to give the Giants a 7-0-1 record in week 5 of the regular season.

Okanagan and Cariboo remained ahead of the Giants in just two and one point ahead, respectively, in the standings.

Eric Margo and Jansen Harkins, with his first goal of the year, also scored for the Giants.

On Saturday, Anthony Conti led the home club with a pair of goals. Team scoring leader Jarid Lukosevicius also had a two-point night, including his sixth marker this season.

The Hawks rallied in the final frame with single goals by Rhett Wilcox and Jakob Stukel, with his second of the game.

Burnaby Winter Club grad Matthew Barzal is the current runaway leader in scoring with 25 total points, including eight goals with the Northeast Chiefs.

The Giants meet the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds this weekend, beginning with a game in Chilliwack on Saturday.

The two teams are back in Burnaby for a Sunday morning encounter at the winter club, beginning at 9: 30 a.m.
