Erin De Sousa of Burnaby shared in some field hockey history with the University of B.C. women's team last weekend.
UBC won a record 13th McCrae Cup following a 3-1 victory over tournament host Calgary at the Canadian Interuniversity Sports national championships on Sunday.
Tournament all-star Poonam Sandhu scored the game-winning goal for the Thunderbirds, while CIS championship MVP Robyn Pendleton added an insurance marker with her fourth goal of the tournament.
"The championship trophy is the one I really wanted, and it's great to cap off my career with a win at nationals," said Pendleton in a UBC press release.
Pendleton, the CIS field hockey player of the year, was also the tournament MVP in 2009.
