The Burnaby Oakeys picked up the regional silver medal last week in a squeezed two-days of play.
The under-12 softball team battled Coquitlam hard and held a 12-7 lead heading into the final three outs but fell 13-12.
It was the team’s third game of the day, after rain scrubbed most of Saturday’s action – although they did open the tournament with a 24-11 victory.
Burnaby catcher Rio Kada was named the tourney MVP, delivering on both sides of the plate.
