Simon Fraser University softball pitcher Kelsie Hawkins was named the Red Lion co-pitcher of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
It is the second time this season that Hawkins has received the award. She shared the award with Central Washington's Maria Gau.
Hawkins posted a 3-0 record this week with wins over Northwest Nazarene and Central Washington in conference play, after a win at home against Concordia in non-conference play on Tuesday.
Hawkins threw back-to-back shutouts against her two conference rivals, while allowing just one run in the game against Concordia.
In total, Hawkins allowed one run on 11 hits in 20 innings, walking four and striking out 21 in the three games last week.
The SFU Clan softball team will be back in action in non-conference play this week when the team travels to Turlock, California to compete in the Mizuno Tournament of Champions, hosted by Cal-State University Stanislaus.
