Peewee Stealers take peewee title at Spring Blast hockey tourney

Burnaby captain Yuki Sano scored two goals and set up a third to lead the Stealers to a 4-3 victory over the Warriors in an all-Burnaby Minor peewee hockey final at the annual Spring Blast tournament at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre on Wednesday.

Peter Udovicic scored the game-winning goal for the Stealers. Kai Majkowski also tallied for the winners.

The Burnaby Minor Rebels placed third, beating the Burnaby Jets 4-2 in the consolation final, also played on Wednesday. Hajrattan Sandhu scored two goals for the Rebels. Mason Chong factored in on both Jets' goals, including a goal.

The girls' version of the Spring Blast continues through the weekend at the Copeland centre.

The atom girls' finals are scheduled to begin on Friday, beginning at 3 p.m. The championship game will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The novice girls take over on Saturday and Sunday with Burnaby playing Langley on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and taking on the Vancouver Angels on Sunday at 3:45 p.m.
