Burnaby school soccer teams took a back seat to North Shore at the provincial girls' soccer playdowns for a third straight year.
The district champion Burnaby North Vikings lost 3-2 to North Shore runner-up Argyle Pipers in the final zone qualifying match to the provincials last Thursday.
Earlier in the week, the Burnaby South Rebels were also eliminated from AAA contention following a 41 loss to the same Pipers' squad.
In the final zone qualifier, Courtney Sine got the Vikings off to a 1-0 lead.
Argyle scored back-toback goals to take the lead, but Danielle Pinoni drew North level with the gametying goal.
The North Vancouver side won the match with a late second-half tally.
