Programs for young hoopsters offered in Burnaby

The Vancouver Sports Club is bringing basketball to Burnaby and New Westminster for some of its youngest players.

The Vancouver Sports Club is bringing basketball to Burnaby and New Westminster for some of its youngest players.

The not-for-profit sports association is offering year-round programs for kids five to eight years old at Gilmore Elementary in Burnaby and Lord Kelvin Elementary in New Westminster. The club is also launching individual and group training for young athletes between the ages of nine and 12.

The club coaching staff includes St. George's School head coach Brian Lee, Byrne Creek's boys' coach Wayne Best, former University of B.C. assistant coach Randy Nohr and other national coaching program certified mentors.
