Jermaine Haley Jr. will be grooming his numerous basketball talents at New Mexico State University.
The 6-7 Burnaby South Secondary point guard verbally committed to the Western Athletic Conference Aggies men’s basketball program on Tuesday.
Haley, a second team all-star at the 2015 B.C. high school boys’ basketball championships, entertained offers from 10 other NCAA Division I programs, including Pac-12 schools Arizona State, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
The four-star prospect also had scholarship offers from Boise State, Louisville, Memphis, Wake Forest, and Steve Nash’s alma mater Santa Clara.
At New Mexico State, Haley, who will redshirt in his freshman season at New Mexico State, will be joining a winning program.
Last season, the Aggies topped the WAC conference with a 13-1 record and a playoff title before losing in the opening round of the NCAA tournament to Kansas.
