Burnaby's Ty Ronning is on the path.
The former Vancouver Giants was called up to the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, after serving a 22-game stint with the ECHL's Maine Mariners where the forward tallied nine goals and 10 assists.
Although he missed the past three weeks due to a lower body injury, Ronning demonstrated all the right stuff since arriving in Maine in mid-November.
A seventh-round draft pick of the New York Rangers in 2016, Ronning has previous tastes of the AHL, having began this season in Hartford. He scored once in an eight-game tour earlier in the year, after launching his pro career last spring with a three-game run upon the completion of the Giants' season.
The Burnaby Winter Club product made his debut in 2016/17 when, as a junior callup following the Western Hockey League season, Ronning registered two goals and three assists over 12 games.
