Canada's Olympic and Paralympic rowing teams are on the hunt for the next champions, and they're hosting a recruiting event this Thursday to try to find them.
Olympic medalist Ben Rutledge will be at the event tomorrow testing youth who are interested in trying out for the program.
Row to Podium is looking for young athletes in grades 10 to 12 who have no experience in rowing, but have specific traits that suit the sport, like height, strength and endurance.
Prospective rowers who attend Thursday's event will be asked to complete two physical tests to determine their cardiovascular endurance and body strength.
The event will be at Burnaby 8 Rinks April 25 from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m.
