The Douglas College Royals knocked off third-place Camosun College in weekend PacWest men's volleyball.
The Royals defeated the Victoria program 3-1 on Friday and 3-2, including a 15-13 tiebreaker, in the Saturday meeting at the New Westminster campus gym.
Andrew McWilliam had a monster weekend, serving up 42 total kills, including 27 in the five-set victory on Saturday.
Andrew Robson also had a big weekend at the net, sharing a game-high 15 kills apiece with McWilliam in Friday's victory and 14 more in the second match.
Robson and Nick Bridle led the Royals in blocks with eight and 12, respectively, in the two-game series.
Libero Jordan Or had 21 total digs for Douglas.
Douglas trailed in the Saturday matchup 22-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17 before pulling out the win in the tiebreaker.
On Friday, Douglas led 25-14, 17-25, 25-16 before winning a marathon 29-27 fourth set.
The wins improved the Royals' record to 13-1 atop the PacWest men's standings, increasing the gap between second-place Vancouver Island University to eight points.
The Nanaimo-based school lost a pair of weekend fixtures to Capilano University, which shares third place with Camosun, both with identical 8-6 records.
Douglas is home to last-place University of the Fraser Valley on Friday and Saturday. Game time is 8 p.m. for both games.
In women's volleyball, Douglas moved into a share of fourth place with Camosun following a series sweep over the Lower Vancouver Island school last weekend.
