Kevin Crowley of New Westminster was made the top pick in the National Lacrosse League pro entry draft on Wednesday.
The multi award-winning Stony Brook University grad was taken first overall by the Philadelphia Wings.
Crowley scored 131 markers and added more than 100 helpers in 60 career games at Stony Brook, the only player in school history to record the century feat in goals and assists.
He was one of just three players in America East history to be named a four-time first team all-star. Crowley was also named the winner of the Enners award as the top Division I player in 2010.
"Kevin is going to be a star in the NLL on the floor, and we know he will represent the values of the Wings organization in the community," said Wings general manager and head coach Johnny Mouradian in a club press release. "We really like his commitment to develop his game at the highest levels."
Jordan McBride, a former junior Salmonbellie and Stony Brook teammate of Crowley, was selected in the second round 13th overall by the Colorado Mammoth.
Other B.C. products drafted in the six-round sweepstakes included Coquitlam junior Travis Cornwall, highly regarded as the possible No. 1 pick in the 2012 Western Lacrosse Association draft in February. Cornwall was taken by the Calgary Roughnecks.
Current New Westminster Salmonbellie righty Corbyn Tao was picked up 12th overall by the Minnesota Swarm.
Langley Thunder runner Jamie Lincoln went to Colorado 14th overall.
Delta junior Mike Mallory went in the third round to the Washington Stealth. Trevor Moore also joined the Stealth with the club's 34th pick in the fourth round.
New Westminster junior Justin Salt was also picked up by Washington with the club's sixth-round pick.
