The Tri-City Bandits were mathematically eliminated from the Presidents' Cup following an 11-6 loss to the Onondaga Redhawks on Wednesday.
The national senior B national championship hosts led 2-1 after the opening period but gave up three goals in a one-minute span late in the second period to fall behind 6-3 after two.
The Redhawks built a five-goal lead in the opening moments of the final frame but the Bandits got the deficit down to two goals following a back-to-back pair by Tri-City game star Nik Bilic.
Onondaga closed out the game with three unanswered goals to move to 3-1, while the Bandits dropped to 0-4 in the Presidents' Cup standings.
Semifinal games will be played on Saturday at the Coquitlam Sports Centre. Medal games are scheduled for Sunday, beginning at noon. The championship gold-medal game is set for 4:30 p.m.
Redhawks captain Brett Bucktooth led all scorers with three goals and two assists. Miles Thompson also had a hat trick for Onondaga.
