Simon Fraser University softball pitcher Kelsie Hawkins was named a first team Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-star while three other players also received all-conference honours.
Heading into the Great Northwest playoffs, Hawkins leads the conference in strikeouts with 129, compared to 97 for the pitcher in second place, while also leading the league with eight complete games.
Hawkins is also second in the conference in opponents batting average (0.231), is tied for second in the conference with 14 wins, fourth in innings pitched (138.2) and fifth in appearances (26).
Fellow pitcher Cara Lukawesky, Carly Lepoutre and Trisha Bouchard earned second team honours while Kaitlyn Cameron, Danielle Raison and Lauren Mew got honourable mentions.
Lukawesky, the reigning Great Northwest pitcher of the year, had another strong season as the Clan ace. She finished fifth in the conference with 89 strikeouts, 138.1 innings pitched and tied with teammate Hawkins for fifth in appearances .
Lepoutre, a senior, earns a spot on the second team after a season which she boasted the highest batting average among third baseman in the conference at .338. She also had the 10th best on base percentage in the conference and was seventh overall with 47 hits.
Bouchard, another senior, finished fourth in the conference with 13 doubles and ninth in total bases.
Freshman catcher Cameron led the Clan with 26 runs batted, shortstop Raison finished second on the team with 26 runs scored and senior second baseman Mew finished second on the team with a .321 batting average.
