The weather isn’t conducive to getting your grass cut, so a haircut will have to do.
It’s what is on tap for fans at Tuesday’s men’s basketball game between Simon Fraser University and Western Washington (7 p.m. at SFU).
Attendees to the men’s game, which pits the Clan against the Great Northwest Athletic Conference-leading Vikings, with a chance at a free haircut from Azzi Hair Studio, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
SFU hopes to clip Western Washington and boost their 6-2 home court record. Led by senior guard Kedar Salam, the Clan closed out a thrilling week at 1-1, beating Central Washington 91-78 last Thursday, before falling 82-81 to Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
In the first match, Salam became just the third player in SFU history to rip 40 points or more in a game. He finished with 40, connection on six of nine three-pointers, while sinking 11 of 19 from the field.
On Saturday he tallied 27 points and chipped in six rebounds. He ended the week averaging 33.5 points per game with a 53.7 per cent shooting range and the GNAC’s Player of the Week honours.
It’ll take a hot hand to cool Western Washington, who have won six straight games for an 11-3 start to the season, including 6-0 in GNAC action.
Tuesday’s game will also feature entertainment from the MEI Screaming Eagles marching band.
