Simon Fraser University's Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe earned Red Lion player of the week honours in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference After setting a record for most rebounds in a single game.

Raincock-Ekunwe's record-breaking performance came last Saturday night, when she grabbed a whopping 24 rebounds against the Trinity Western Spartans as the Clan closed out non-conference play with a 87-55 victory.

The win improved the Clan's record to 9-1 on the year.

Raincock-Ekunwe is the 10th player in the conference to record 20 or more rebounds in a single game, but the first to do it twice. Raincock-Ekunwe also had 22 rebounds against Colorado State Pueblo on Nov. 25 in 2011. She also had 23 points against TWU to record her sixth double-double of the season.

Raincock-Ekunwe's six double-doubles pushes her career total to 47, leaving her one double-double away from tying the all-time Great Northwest record of 48, currently held by former Alaska Anchorage Seawolves player Rebecca Kielpinski.

Raincock-Ekunwe and the Clan will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 3 as they travel north to take on the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks.
