All-American defender Magnus Kristensen was one of three Simon Fraser University Clan soccer players named to the All-West region team this week

Three Simon Fraser University soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-West region team.
Chris Bargholz, Magnus Kristensen and Alex Rowley made the first team squad.
Bargholz and Kristensen were also named All-Americans in last week’s Daktronics voting, which is chosen by the NCAA's sports information directors.
The trio led the Clan to the final four in the NCAA championship tournament that saw Simon Fraser bow out to the Carson-Newman Eagles following a 3-2 loss in the semifinals in Evans, Georgia last week.

SFU clinched their second straight NCAA West Region championship title and fourth consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference crown during the 2013 season.
This season, Bargholz was named the player of the year in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in a season that saw the junior score four goals and record seven assists in 17 games played.
Kristensen was named the conference freshman of the year and first team all-conference, starting in all 23 games he played in for the Clan, while recording three goals and an assist, helping the Clan defence allow 0.87 goals per game, the third lowest total in the conference.
Rowley appeared in 22 games for the Clan in 2013, starting 20 of them and recording two goals and seven assists, while earning a spot on the first team of conference all-stars.
