Simon Fraser University was blanked in its first two women's soccer matches of the Great Northwest conference season.

The Clan gave up back-to-back 2-0 home shutouts to the Central Washington Wildcats on Sept. 15, before losing by the same score to West regional No. 5-ranked Seattle Pacific University last Saturday.

SFU fell behind 1-0 after just two minutes against the Wildcats. Central Washington struck again just before halftime. Clan keeper Amelia Ng made five saves in the loss.

In Saturday's matchup, Seattle Pacific outshot the Clan 15-6 overall, scoring twice in the second half to improve to 5-1 this season. SFU saw its record fall to 1-3.

Anna Brancati came close to giving the Clan a halftime lead, but pushed her scoring chance just over the net.

Emma Cruickshank also had a good opportunity go for naught late in the second half.

The women's team is Billings, Montana this Thursday.
