Watson was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team for District 8.
Simon Fraser finished the year 14-1-3 and was ranked as high as No. 2 in the NCAA national polls. They entered the NCAA Division 2 championships ranked third overall and the No. 1 seed in the West Region, but fell 4-3 to Cal Poly Pomona in penalty kicks to end the season.
