Sheardown scored pair in Chiefs' win

Burnaby’s Jonny Sheardown pocketed his first two goals of the season in leading the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs past the Vancouver Northwest Giants 5-3 on Sunday in B.C. Major Midget Hockey League action.
The 5-foot-10 defenceman gave the Chiefs a 2-0 lead midway through the first period, then counted a powerplay tally midway through the second that stood up as the winner.
The Chiefs built up a 4-0 lead before the Giants rallied. Also scoring in the win were Chong Min Lee, Sho Takai and Harris Pearce, who chipped in three helpers.
A day earlier, the Giants held the upperhand in a 5-0 shutout win.
The Chiefs roster features players from Burnaby, New West, Ridge Meadows and the Tri-Cities.
