Marissa Di Lorenzo of Burnaby and Ali Trenter were named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-academic soccer team.
Di Lorenzo, a junior, is taking psychology and carries an grade point average of 3.66, while Trenter, a sophomore, is taking a Bachelor of Arts and is carrying a grade point average of 3.36.
Di Lorenzo was also named to the squad last season, one of 15 women in the conference to achieve that honour.
While maintaining an impressive GPA, Di Lorenzo has started 12 games for the Clan this season and played in 13. Trenter has played in 14 of the Clan's 15 games.
To be eligible for the conference all-academic team, student-athletes must be a letter winner, have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
On the men's side, senior SFU defender Helge Neumann of Norway was named to the conference all-academic team for a third straight season.
The economics major has a grade point average of 3.30 and has helped the Clan to a league low 11 goals allowed, a 0.72 goals per game average and a league-best seven shutouts.
Neumann is one of only six men's soccer players in the Great Northwest conference to be named to the all-academic team for a third time in his career this season.
The Clan is on the road this weekend, traveling to Lacey, Washington to face Saint Martin's on Thursday at 12:45 p.m. before heading to Seattle for a match against second-place Seattle Pacific on Saturday at 7 p.m.
SFU will then wrap up their regular season schedule against their cross-border rivals from Western Washington University on Sunday, Nov. 4 on Terry Fox Field at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
