Simon Fraser University forward Carlo Basso will join the Ottawa Fury's Premier developmental men's soccer league team for the summer season.
Basso had a solid sophomore season with the Clan, earning Great Northwest Athletic Conference co-player of the year with 16 goals. He also earned first team all-region and All-American mentions. Basso also garnered the SFU male athlete of the year award.
Basso is expected to make his PDL debut on May 26 against the Seacoast United Phantoms in the league's Eastern conference.

Clan women's softball chucker Cara Lukawesky was named the Great Northwest conference pitcher of the month for the third time this season.
Lukawesky went 2-1, with a save, in four games for the Clan last week. The senior starter threw a complete game shutout, allowing just one hit, in an 8-0 win over Northwest Nazarene on Thursday.
On Sunday, Lukawesky tossed a two-hit shutout, including eight strikeouts, against Western Washington.

SFU golfer T.J. McColl was named to the Great Northwest conference all-academic team on Monday.
McColl, a third-year kinesiology student, currently carries a 3.21 grade point average.
