Skylor Davis won a bronze medal for Simon Fraser University at the NCAA Division II wrestling championships.
The Clan lightweight earned the third-place medal with a 10-4 win over Jeffrey Vista of Newberry in the 125-pound consolation final in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday. Vista came into the competition sporting a season record of 37-9.
Davis lost his semifinal match to Gerald Huff of Adams, the No. 8-ranked Div. II wrestler in the country.
Davis opened with upset win over third-ranked Alex Johns of Indianapoli by a pin. He also defeated 21-5 Garrett Evans of Ouachita Baptist in the quarter-finals 13-6 to advance to the final four.
Heavyweight Sunny Dhinsa opened with a 4-3 win over No. 4-ranked James Malechek of Wisconsin Parkside, but lost his next two matches and was eliminated.
