Burnaby international footballer Christine Sinclair will receive another honour this fall.
The 10-time Canadian Footballer of the Year will be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame a permanent place of tribute and recognition for Canadian achievement in Toronto on Sept. 21.
Sinclair is one of eight inductees that will be celebrated as part of the Class of 2013, a class that also includes actors, musicians and human rights activists.
Along with Sinclair, the 2013 induction class features music producer Bob Ezrin, musician Oscar Peterson (deceased), actors Victor Garber and Alan Thicke, innovators/human rights activists Craig and Marc Kielburger, and Marathon of Hope sporting icon Terry Fox (deceased).
Sinclair is the first footballer inducted. She has captained Canada's team for seven years, including a CONCACAF championship in 2010 and an Olympic bronze medal at London in 2012. Just last year, she became the first female athlete from a team sport to win the Lou Marsh Memorial Trophy as Canada's best athlete.
Sinclair is currently leading the national team on the road to the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015.
Canada's Walk of Fame was introduced in 1998, with the stars plotted along the sidewalk of downtown Toronto's theatre district on King and Simcoe Streets.
Past inductees include athletes Gordie Howe and Steve Nash, actors Mike Myers and Kim Cattrall, and musicians Nelly Furtado and Cline Dion.
