Simon Fraser University softball pitcher Cara Lukawesky was named the Red Lion pitcher of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
The Clan senior did not allow an earned run in 21 innings pitched last week, leading the Clan to wins over the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets, the Central Washington Wildcats and the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders.
In all, Lukawesky allowed just nine hits and a pair of unearned runs, while walking eight and striking out 13.
Over 10 games this year, nine of which were starts, Lukawesky has an earned run average of 3.64, has thrown eight complete games and struck out 37 batters. She is also the reigning conference pitcher of the year.
Lukawesky and the Clan will be back in action at home on Beedie Field on Saturday against their cross-border rivals the Western Washington Vikings. First pitch of the double header is at 1 p.m.
