Local athlete wins nod for his efforts with goaltending

Burnaby native Andrew Fink was recently named both the Canada West and Canadian Inter-University Sports male athlete of the week.

Fink, a fourth-year business student at Trinity Western in the Fraser Valley, led the Spartans to recent back-to-back 1-0 shutouts on the road against Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The senior goalkeeper totalled nine saves in the two victories.

Burnaby native Mark Santorelli is putting his NHL dream on hold for now.

Santorelli, the younger brother of Florida Panthers forward Mike Santorelli, signed a one-year deal with Tingsryd in Sweden.

Mark, who played his junior hockey for the Chilliwack Bruins, won the WHL scoring title in 200708 with 101 points and tallied eight goals and 13 assists in 64 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
