Steelers beat Port Moody in overtime

Rookie forward Timothy Chow nets three-point game for Burnaby-based junior B hockey team

An overtime goal by first star Joel Gaudet put the Grandview Steelers back in the winner's column.

The junior B Steelers eked out a 4-3 victory over the last-place Harold Brittain conference club in Pacific Hockey League play at the Burnaby Winter Club on Sunday.

Michael Wilms and rookie Timothy Chow got Grandview back in the game with single goals three minutes apart to tie the contest 2-2 midway through the second period.

Second star Christopher Seto put the home team up 3-2 on Chow's second point of the afternoon following a power play in the final period.

But Port Moody knotted the score from Hammond Jones with four minutes left to send the game into extra time.

Gaudet scored the game-winner from Chow two minutes in overtime.

Adam Cronier recorded the win in goal with 23 saves.

With the win, Grandview moved into a tie for third place with the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, both with 19 points.

Delta currently leads the Tom Shaw conference with 24 points.

The Steelers are in Abbotsford on Friday to face the Pilots before returning home to face the first-place Ice Hawks at the winter club on Sunday. Game time is 4 p.m.
