The St. Thomas More Knights are looking deep heading into this weekend's B.C. high school track and field championships.

Looking to build on last year's sixth-place finish in the boys' team aggregate, STM will be fielding its gold-medal-winning 4x100 metre team of Mikey Carney, Malcolm Lee, Sebastian Adugalski, Giovanni Trasolini and Jalen Jana in the senior relay at Swangard Stadium on June 1 and 2.

Trasolini, a finalist in both the 100 and 200m last year, will again be competing in the sprints. Juniors Lee and Jana will contest the 100m and 200m, respectively.

Adugalski, who placed seventh in the decathlon in Abbotsford last weekend, will be looking to qualify in the 110-and 400-m hurdles.

Rachel Shuttleworth will lead the Knight girls in the sprints, including anchoring the 4x100m relay with Jordana Blaeser and Paige and Alexis Llewellyn.

Also hoping to make a strong debut is Grade 8 upand-comer Zion CorralesNelson.

The first-year Knight has posted very fast times in the sprint this season, including a 12.8 in the 100m and 25.8 in the 200m. CorralesNelson has already broken all of STM's sprint records for girls in her very first year of competition.

Also hoping to qualify are Taylor Brear in the 800m, Nico Repole and Kamila Wojciechowski in the shot and discus, Bryant Lee in the javelin, Ryan Rickaby and Lukas Slotman in racewalk and Domunique Booker in the 100m.

Unconfirmed junior qualifers included Isabel Chavez, Massimo Pozzolo, Shane Noel, J.J. Deslauriers, Annie Selormey, Danyel Fadi, Joshua Juni, Francesco Scaglione, Taylor McIntosh, Samantha Landolt, Ben Steele, Kyne Nicolasora, Dante Trasolini, Guilia Repole and as well as both girls' and boys' relay teams.
