Olympic gold medalists Daniel Igali and Hayley Wickenheiser will headline the panel of celebrity athletes taking part in the 2012 Gathering of the Clan Breakfast in May.
The third annual fundraiser for athletic scholarships will take place on May 16 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
"This is our flagship fundraising event," said senior director of athletics and recreation Milton Richards. "We are honoured to have two Olympians join us who have represented Canada on the global stage. Both Hayley and Daniel are former student-athletes at SFU who benefited from scholarships, raised through events just like this one."
This year's program will run from 7 to 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m.
Igali was recently inducted into the SFU Athletics Hall of Fame. He won 116 consecutive matches with the Clan before going on to win a gold medal for Canada at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
Wickenheiser is a three-time Olympic gold medalist with the Canadian women's hockey team.
Wickenheiser played softball for the Clan when she attended SFU and competed for Canada's softball team also in the 2000 Sydney Games.
In its first two years, the Gathering of the Clan has raised over $500,000 for athletic scholarships.
Net proceeds from this year's event will be matched up to $100,000.
Tickets for the third annual Gathering of the Clan Breakfast can be purchased online at www.sfu.ca/invite/clanbreakfast. Seats cost $200 while tables of ten are available for $2000 each.
Charitable tax receipts will be provided following the event.
