St. Michael's Elementary School placed second in the Catholic Independent Schools Vancouver Archdiocese senior girls' soccer final at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex-West on Wednesday.
St. Mike's lost the championship final 3-0 to Sacred Heart after getting the better of Burnaby rival Holy Cross 1-0 in the semifinals earlier in the day.
Holy Cross picked up the bronze medal with a 1-0 win over Our Lady of Sorrows on a goal by Martina Fadi.
Sacred Heart also won the girls' juvenile division, edging Star of the Sea in a penalty shootout.
Holy Cross, which last year placed first in both girls' divisions, picked up a second bronze medal, defeating Queen of all Saints 3-0 in the juvenile consolation final.
