The soccer nation's Canadian spawn reached three finals at the Nations Cup in Richmond -- a B.C. tournament that presents a World Cup-like format for descendents from various countries -- and while didn't win, were up for the challenge.

In the men's Over-38 final, the game went to overtime before India pulled out a dramatic 1-0 victory.

The men's Over-52 final saw Serbia battle hard before falling 3-1 to Team China.

In the Open men's division, the lone blemish came in a tourney-opening 1-1 tie with Canada -- with Canada going on to play Africa in the final.

A majority of the Serbian players, including with the Open division team, call Burnaby home, while many play for the Vancouver metro premier league squads, based in Burnaby and New Westminster.

"In my opinion once you bringpeople together for a happy experience, it's a success," remarked Team Serbia manager Srecko Skoro. "The (on-field) result is a different measure, but I'd say it was a success."
