Two late goals by the Handsworth Royals spoiled the Burnaby North Vikings' initial chance at a berth in the upcoming B.C. high school girls' soccer championships.
The Vikes fell 2-0 to the Royals at North Monday, but will get a second chance at qualifying Thursday when they play the winner of Burnaby South and Argyle (played Tuesday after NOW deadlines).
The final provincial qualifying match will also be held at North at 3 p.m.
Sidney Roy had a couple of chances on goal, as North set a good pace early in the match. But under hot temperatures and against a deep Handsworth bench, the Vikes surrendered the momentum to the Royals.
