Wings Gymnastics Society founder Helga Ovington was made a life member of Gymnastics B.C. for her work in the development and growth of the popular Cameron rec centre's gymnastics program at the association's annual awards reception in Burnaby last Saturday.
Ovington was cited as a builder, mentor and leader for building one of the most successful and enduring gymnastics clubs in the province.
Wings gymnast Joanna Wong was one of seven recipients of a $500 Gymnastics B.C. scholarship, while society coach Jessica DiTomaso was named a Play Gymnastics coach of the year.
