Robertson, Schmaltz and Shesterkin named NHL's three stars of the week

NEW YORK — Dallas Stars left-wing Jason Robertson, Arizona Coyotes centre Nick Schmaltz and New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin have been named the NHL's three stars of the week.

Robertson had seven goals in three games highlighted by consecutive hat tricks and game-winning goals, to lift the Stars to a perfect week.

Robertson then recorded his first career hat trick – capped by his third career overtime goal – while playing in his 100th NHL game, a 4-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday.

He closed the week by posting his second straight hat trick, including the winning goal, an in a 6-3 triumph over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.

Schmaltz had two goals and five assists in Arizona's 8-5 win over Ottawa on Saturday. 

He became the first NHL player to collect seven points in a game since Feb. 2, 2012, when Sam Gagner had four goals and four assists with Edmonton in an 8-4 win over Chicago.

Schmaltz also scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Colorado on Thursday.

Shesterkin stopped 106 of the 111 shots he faced, going 3-0-0 with a 1.67 goals-against average and .955 save percentage to lead the Rangers to a perfect week.
