A Burnaby man has died in a tragic mountain biking accident.
The crash took place in the mountain biker facility up at Whistler Blackcomb on Oct. 9, but only just released the information on Tuesday due to the time it took to find and inform the victim's family.
According to a statement, a 35-year-old Burnaby man was killed, but no name was released.
The male was “transported to the Whistler Medical Clinic, after Whistler Mountain Bike Park Patrol responded to the accident on A-Line in the Bike Park,” read the statement. “After further emergency care and evaluation, the guest was transported to Vancouver General Hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.”
No other details were supplied and the ski resort referred all other questions to the BC Coroner’s Service.
